BB3 Band Workshop with Mr. Ed Kennedy

An Evening of Musical Growth

On Wednesday, 6th November, BB3 Band had the privilege of working with Ed Kennedy, an esteemed music educator, conductor, and composer. The workshop focused on refining a contest program, which included Peace Perfect Peace, Four Cities Symphony, and Star Lake March. Kennedy, who has over 30 years of experience in music education and composition, provided valuable feedback that helped the band elevate their performance.

Kennedy’s career spans Australia and the UK, with numerous published works and commissions for schools and festivals. His compositions have earned accolades like the 'Editor’s Choice' from J.W. Pepper, and his works are frequently performed at major festivals and competitions.

During the workshop, Kennedy offered expert insights on dynamics, phrasing, and ensemble balance. His guidance helped the band not only refine their technical skills but also deepen their musical expression.

The session was a unique opportunity for BB3 to learn from one of the best, leaving the band with new perspectives on their music and a renewed sense of unity. With Kennedy’s feedback, BB3 is now better prepared for upcoming performances.
