Our Story.

Founded in 1981 from the merger of the Valley Concert Band and the South-Eastern District RSL Band, Brisbane Brass became an incorporated entity in 1993. Over the past 40+ years, it has established itself as one of Queensland & Australia’s leading brass band associations, winning numerous regional, state & national titles.

The association includes three bands—A, B, and C grades—comprising over 130 members and participating in 20+ community performances annually.

Brisbane Brass is dedicated to cultivating musical excellence, providing educational pathways, nurturing intergenerational connections, fostering community engagement, championing cross-cultural development, and promoting wellbeing.

We are registered with the Australian National Band Council and a member of the Queensland Band Association, maintaining a strong tradition of brass banding through regular rehearsals and community involvement.
