Can you help? (with a rehearsal venue)
We were forced to sell our hall in Everton Park during 2020-2021. With strict council sound control requirements and zoning limitations we haven’t been able to find a new band hall. With COVID surges and ever-changing school hall access constraints it’s a challenge keep rehearsals consistently running.
Can you help with long term access (lease or purchase) of a tilt-slab building or something suitable for quite a loud band? Ideally we need 4-5m ceiling height and concrete walls. We’d love to hear about it if you can help.
Cultural and Arts support
Donations to Brisbane are tax deductible.
Brisbane Brass and other cultural organisations are feeling the full force of COVID effects and limitations. We have not received any COVID related support from any level of government for the past two years, despite income from gigs being severely impacted. With elections coming up talk to your local member about this issue. If you’d like to contribute to our continued operations it’s tax deductible and we’d definitely appreciate it!
A Community of banding
Brisbane Brass Music Association engages thousands of people in the community each year through directly mentoring, instructing, and collaborating with amateur and professional musicians and other music groups. Brisbane Brass is a holistic community initiative as family members, friends, colleagues and neighbours have an opportunity to participate as musicians and music lovers alike.
Brass Bands are very adaptable and we play everything from classic marches to Lady Gaga.
Our members are of all abilities and ages, from juniors just starting out to experienced professional players. Our Musical Directors are highly regarded industry specialists and rehearsals are a quality cultural development activity designed to stimulate higher learning and instrumental skill development.
