End of an Era

Brisbane Brass bids farewell to their esteemed Musical Director, Mr Josh McKechie.

Today marks the end of a chapter as Josh McKechie conducts his final performance with Brisbane Brass A Grade Band at the State Championships. Over the past 16 years, Josh has dedicated his heart and soul to our organisation and the wider banding community. His involvement has been more than just a musical journey—it’s become a core part of who he is.

As Musical Director, President, and player, we are immensely proud of all he has achieved. His dedication, especially through challenging times, is truly admirable.

We also celebrated Josh’s distinguished service with a special presentation from the QLD Band Association today.

Thank you, Josh, for your exceptional leadership and commitment. You'll always be a valued part of our brass band family.
